I typed "s" into firefox just now, and it auto-filled "shooting in Minneapolis". It's hard to tell which shooting generated this development; but as the New York Times (and everyone else) reports, a 37-year-old registered nurse by the name of Alex Pretti was murdered by ICE today.

The circumstances of the shooting aren't what I plan on writing about. I stepped into the online world of the far-right to see how another slice of America was experiencing what felt like a crisis of morality for the folks in my circle. This is the first of a series of immersions I'm going to take into the bizarro world of the alt-right.

It seems like the day started with the usual bravado:

A post celebrating a kinetic strike on a boat in the Pacific Ocean

And the usual vitriol:

And the usual innuendos:

Implications of child trafficking related to former Venezuelan President Nicholas Maduro.

And finally, the usual crazy:

A bunch of really weird conspiracy theories about Greenland, intended to justify or explain the Trump administration's interest in seizure

But shortly, after the shooting, the channels mobilized:

Soon, as usual - the narrative gained cohesion and turned responsibility onto Democratic government officials:
